In their own words, “The Nuclear Family is a four man improv musical feast, formed on the millennium (possibly), and has been brutalizing New York ever since.”  That is until last month when they came to punch La La Land straight in the kisser. Boy, do they pack a mean right hook. These fine young gentlemen are so incredibly talented, I truly hope that everyone on the planet has an opportunity at some point in their beautiful lives to bask in the greatness that is The Nuclear Family.  Come back to LA boys, we miss you!!!

It’s true…I LOVE to play!!  What I love more is when people show up and and are ready and willing to play along.  Enter Miss Stephanie Burden! During our phone consultation she told me that her family history dates back the Princess of Aquitaine.  Not kidding…amazing, right? And, she continued, that she has always wanted to do a photo shoot exploring her fun family tree.  Well, that was enough to start the fire and then when Stephanie arrived for her session our little modern day princess was born.  Before we hit the road with Princess Stephanie, we were able to sneak in some good old fashioned headshots;)

Josh Kalender is a combo platter of rugged good looks, a sweet soul and that illustrious “it” factor.  He came so prepared for this shoot that we were able to rock out a bunch of different looks…he really was a rock star!  I wish you great success Josh, I know it is headed your way!!!

While home for my friend Amy’s wedding I was able to celebrate my Grammy Olva’s 88th birthday and to have some much needed family time.  Gram, thank you for your constant love and support.  You have been an inspiration and a guiding light on my journey!

Betty’s Path is a magical street on Cape Cod where I was lucky enough to grow up alongside Miss Amy Beth Raineri.  In fact, all of the families from Betty’s Path have a special bond that has only strengthened throughout the years. This past weekend our little family of friends made our way up to New Hampshire to be a witness to Amy’s “I do’s.”   I attended the wedding as a guest but I managed a few stolen moments while enjoying a day and night full of laughs, family and friends. Amy, I love you like a sister and I am thrilled that you have found such happiness.  Welcome to the family Doug!

You know when you meet someone and you feel like you have known them forever?  Eitan Kramer has such an ease about him you can’t help but feel instantly connected.  As an added bonus, ladies and gents, he is a personal trainer so if you’re in the market give this man a holla.  And his “bitches” are…well they are…how do you say….AMAZING!!!  Miss Chloe & Miss Scout you stole my heart.

KaDo is giving birth in August and in celebration of her summer pregnancy we decided to hit the beach for our session.  Unfortunately, the only day we could schedule our shoot was on July 5th, when I believe everyone and their mother had the beach as their final destination.  After both of our 2 hour car rides to El Matador beach we hiked down to this California oasis.  While processing, I was really inspired by the ethereal landscape and KaDo’s beachy baby glow.   KaDo, thanks for being such a rock star on our hike down to and back from the beach and congratulations you are going to be one amazing mama!!!

This week has been NUTS and I wouldn’t have it any other way!!!  I had the honor of working with some amazing people this week…each unique and wonderful!  Here is a taste of what went down!

What is love?  Well, that is a good question!!  One thing I know for sure is that Melissa and James find its true meaning while looking into their sweet Sophie’s eyes.  I had the pleasure of shooting Melissa from the moment she found out she was pregnant.  For 9 months we kept careful record of her progression.  Two short weeks after her grand entrance I had the honor of capturing sweet Sophie Mei Yan Armstrong.  Well, Miss Sophie just turned three months old and looking into those eyes, you experience the purest love around…yes, that’s right…precious, drooly, giggly love!!

Josh Moon’s birthday camping trip is a yearly event.   It’s a time where my amazing group of friends leave the comfort of Los Angeles and brave it in the woods for one WHOLE weekend away from cell phones and internet.  Yes, that’s right!  This year we navigated away from our traditional Bandido site and explored a new camp ground near Big Bear called Tent Peg at the Crab Flats.  Our days were filled with relaxation and our party-pants nights by the fire were capped off with the sweet sound of the wind whistling and plenty of inter-tent chattering.  Godbye Mr. Wilderness…till we meet again.
