I picked up my first camera when I was a preteen and developed my first true crush! In my hand I held the most magical instrument that had the ability to capture life’s most precious and valuable moments. I toyed with my camera throughout high school exploring dark rooms and began seeing life differently through my lens. Having also been a lifelong theatre hound, I went to FSU and received my BFA in music theatre. Near graduation all of my friends needed headshots to begin their careers in the biz, all of which I ended up taking. It became my side business, something I loved being able to do for my friends. People LOVED them, and continued referring their friends to me. But I still didn’t consider myself a true photographer…not yet. You see like any good love story there is always that moment where you are hit with cupid’s arrow. Well…I have been craftily dogging that arrow until I shot one of my best friend’s weddings a few years ago. I gave cupid a clear shot and boy oh boy, does his arrow pack a powerful punch. I am now more than ever fully, madly and inalterably in love with photography! Now I crave the nuance of a look between two souls speaking in their own special language, the smile of a child as he stares deeply into his parents eyes, the reach for a hand that holds the possibility of a grand adventure, the story of us and the details of love…this is my passion. Getting lost behind a lens has become one of my favorite activities and I feel very lucky to be able to work with and meet the most incredible people while doing what I love. What joy, what bliss, what a magical life!
